Barbara Ann Corcoran

 Barbara Ann Corcoran (born March 10 1949) is an American businesswoman investor and speaker. She is also a consultant, speaker and syndicated columnist. She is also an TV personality, author and author. In 2001, she founded The Corcoran Group in New York City. The company was sold to the business to NRT for $66 million. In the following months she left the business. Corcoran is one of ABC’s first Shark Tank investors. As of now she has appeared in each season of Shark Tank. In February of 2020 Corcoran had signed 53 deals, with the biggest being a $350,000 deal that was able to cover 40% of Coverplay. Corcoran was born in Edgewater (New Jersey) as the second child of ten in an Irish-Catholic working class family. Florence, her mother was an errand-taker. Edwin W. Corcoran Jr. was her father. He was constantly moving from one job to another throughout Corcoran’s childhood. The family relied on the food provided by a friendly local grocer for free food. Corcoran recalls that her father was a drunkard who sometimes treated her mother with contempt and disrespect, especially after he had been drinking. Corcoran was a troubled student in school. Later, she discovered she had dyslexia. Corcoran was educated in an Catholic elementary school and then enrolled in high school in Englewood at St. Cecilia High School. Corcoran who was in the process of failing many classes during her first year of high school, was transferred to Leonia High School. There, she received a D.
